History

At the end of the 90-ies of the last century, many sectors of the economy, and aviation in particular, were not going through the best of times. Helicopter transportation decreased in volume by a multiple. It was necessary to radically change the approach to business management and build relationships in the new market conditions.

Sergey Shilov decides to create a new company headed by young, ambitious and competent people. In 2000, SKOL Airlines was established as a limited liability Company. A team of six people passes the certification procedure as soon as possible and receives the operator's certificate on a symbolic date, February 23, 2001.

The formation and development of the new airline took place from scratch. There were almost no people willing to invest in aviation, especially in the helicopter sector. It was impossible to get a loan, there were no security features. The company started its operations with three Mi-8T helicopters leased and a small office space. As a result, by 2004, thanks to the efforts of the same team, the company owned 7 Mi-8T helicopters, two Mi-26T helicopters and a Yak-40 aircraft (VIP lounge).
